Kyle Barker, Owner and CEO
In 1968 Kyle started as a salesman for the Sherman Clay Music chain and in ‘69 was transferred to Sherman Clay in Modesto. Barker’s Music was started in 1974 as a full line music store. In 1981 Barker’s Music secured the Yamaha franchise. As a musician and vocalist, Kyle is constantly experimenting in the field with the latest P.A. equipment and instruments. Richie Edwards, General Manager, Stockton also Richie's Guitar Repair
Richie started playing guitar at 13. He played guitar for 2 years in the Oakdale High School jazz band and at 15 he was playing in a rock band. Richie’s was teaching guitar at 18 and was also in retail by then. Richie started at Barker's Music in 1996. When it comes to product knowledge of guitars, p.a. gear and pianos, Richie is a walking encyclopedia and manages the Stockton store.

Lonney Hallum, General Manager, Modesto
Lonney has worked for Barker's Music for ten years. As the saying goes, Lonney "came in the back door." As a professional guitarist and vocalist, Lonney ended up in retail and recording, but he still performs. Lonney has transformed the Stockton store and added guitars and combo to an already successful Yamaha piano store. Lonney went from sales to guitar department manager, to piano and keyboard manager, to general manager of the Modesto store.
